I saw a swirl Then a breach As a creature rose From out the deep. Long slimy teeth Sharpe scary claws Spiky green scales A bone-chilling roar. It had none of those things It was lilac and smooth Had beautiful eyes And ruby red shoes. An obsidian belly All glassy and black An elegant neck A pearlescent back It had great silken wings Like a pretty pink bat And silvery hair That it wore in a plait. Its voice was so sweet Not at all like a sharks It bowed when it saw me Then plucked at its harp. It sang me a song Poseidon's Lost Love Of a mermaid it new And a gifted white dove. I don't remember much else I tried for a snap But my camera was wet And the picture was crap.
